Dressing up as a character of the opposite gender.

In my group John and Ivan have dressed up as the opposite gender. They are very nice and funny to dress up as woman and played very excellent. They do not make me to think about gender roles because they make up as women are just for imitate the roles in the movie. I just feel funny about their dresses and their tried to imitate women' voice. And some Chinese theaters like Beijing opera，Guangdong opera, Huangmeixi and so on that need the men to play like women. Some players are played extreme graceful and beautiful than real women. This is a kind of art, do not make audience feel they are gay. People always hard to learn themselves, so men may be more learn women than themselves. Therefore, man play women in theater will be better to personation than women play women. However, if I saw a man dress up as a woman in real life may have different feeling. I will think he is a gay or the men is strange and eccentric.

I like the film, it is make me feel gloomy, but the story is pretty good, the player are very excellent. A woman Blanche lost her husband, relatives and her homes and become screwy. She is the most sympathetic who want to find a people to rely on, but always using artistic and poetic tone of the sentence to speak, seemed to be somewhat artificial. She lived in her own world and think she is beautiful, gentle and attractive. She is also the pursuit of her own lives and her own longing, looking for individuals to rely on, want to have a peaceful life. However, everything been changed by her crude brother-in-law. She fall in love with Mickey and plan to married, but her past be know by them. They think her lies constantly and not clean. But who do not have past, the men, ridiculous mind about her past. Then Blanche imagine a millionaire man love her, but the dream been broken by her vulgarity brother-in-law who interfere her. This makes the women crazy. Further, Stella is also painful, her life is really bed and she don’t have power to change. Lastly, Stenley is the least sympathetic, although he is anguished the Blanche’s come disturb his live, in fact he don’t know his cruel and think he is right. He does not care about Blanche’s life just want she live his family.

MOVIES

Are movies are art-form, a form of entertainment, or both? Tell us about your favorite movie: why do you like it as much as you do? What do you look for in a "good" movie, or what criteria are important to you when you define a "good" movie?
Movies are both an art-form and entertainment. They bring happy, sad, and give us visual enjoyable. I prefer the science fiction films and the horror films, which have power to make my all sprite following their screen and scenario. They can control my heart. I most like the movies which open a different world for us， like Resident Evil, Spirited Away, Jurassic Park etc.
Form those kind of film, I most like is Spirited Away. It is a cartoon film, have lovely and special people, colorful images and wizardly word. It described a story of a girl fall in a special word and saved her parents. And also make people thinking what will you do, if you face that problem, can you been so brave and persevere in your primitively ideals as the girl in the movie. I think a "good" movie life inspiration; make people have good influence from the movies. And it is better to have creative and impressive.

SALLY MANN

Sally Mann's photos are beautiful. She just use the black and white to expect her thinking. The children in her photos are like angle, do not have sensual feeling. Using children as model give people more shock than other object. She just want to express her feeling in easier way. I think it is not a kind of social taboo, she does not need to be censored.
If artists exist outside the normal boundaries they also can be acceptable. Because they have freedom to create what they like. If it is really very ugly, people will not accept their artwork. And a lot of times artists want to use some way to expect their feeling. Therefore, I think it is acceptable.

In our teams presentation we had enough prepare and my team members are very excellent. They are very good, but I had little nervous. In my process, I was not nervous when my partners speaking and at the beginning I spoke. But in the middle I spoke wrong order; when I should spoke about the influence of civil war, the PPT was about novels. After that I began to speak very fast and my voice maybe listened nervous.
The most difficult in presentation is I always felt a little nervous and worried to forget what I should speak. So I had taking the papers which have content of my speaking, though most content already have in power point.
Then the easiest is the progress to making power point. I enjoying finding beautiful pictures and designing the power point, and hoping it more enjoyable.
Most people in their presentation is very good, not nervous and their speed of speaking is good that not quick and not slow.
I think the cooperation in my team members could be improved and have better prepare. I need to conquer nervous, the next presentation will better.

Who are more "serious"?
The Waters's song are more "serious". Most of Water's song are just use very simple musical instrument, such as guitar and harmonica. The all things he expressed are from his voice and his lyric, and his song have connection with American's history. So his songs are more simple more serious. Dylan's are also serious, but some of the songs listened not serious. There have songs be sung like speaking, it is not serious. Madonnna's songs are expression his thought and his life. They are more living. And the music we heard are not just his voice, there are many obbligatos. If the music do not have accompany, the feeling of her song may be different. Thus, the Waters' s song are the most serious.

In my opinion, the lyrics and music of the songs can reflect the history we learned today. Specially, the Robert Johnson's "Love in Vain" ，that is sung so despondent. And the lyric write his lover live him and he send his lover in the station, all of them making people feel very sad. However, the music of White Stripes' "Death Letter" do not give people so many sad feeling. It brings more enthusiasm, instead of sadness. It makes me want dancing and do not care about the lyric， won't even mention the history.

No, I don't think the blues means to be said. Some blues will bring enthusiasm, we just want to dancing by the song. And they also have a lust for life and for love.
